Antelope Valley Women in Action, in addition to its activities that benefit the community, has created a voluntary, nonprofit, unincorporated, general purpose, recipient state political action committee (PAC) composed of individual Democratic women independent of any political party, organization, officeholder or candidate united in common purpose: to support the election of Democratic candidates, particularly but not exclusively female candidates, to partisan and nonpartisan office in the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. At our discretion and as resources permit, we may support Democratic candidates, or oppose non-Democratic candidates, anywhere in the state of California, as well as support or oppose measures on local or state ballots. Our first priority, however, is the Antelope Valley. One can think of no other area in Democratic Los Angeles County where Democrats are a majority in the major cities and yet are so obscenely underrepresented in governmental elected and appointed office.
Our goal is to be a significant and effective local political resource for promising Democratic candidates, when resources permit, through training, direct contributions to their campaigns, and independent expenditures on behalf of their candidacies.
